The scotch whisky industry accounts for a quarter of the UK’s food and drink exports, penetrating 200 worldwide markets, supporting 40, International enforcement agencies & world health organisations is the trade in counterfeit branded spirit & alcohols.

Not only are these counterfeited products damaging to health with many resulting in death, they amount to a significant loss of revenue to the scotch whisky Industry, estimated at 500m pounds per annum.

Through the project we will test and improve our current system to allow our technology to identify the true authenticity of the liquid from outside the bottle.

This will allow Distilled Solutions to create the worlds first end to end counterfeit prevention system.

The system can scan through the glass from outside the bottle without breaking the seal with accuracy and confidence identifying the liquids true authenticity and show the presence of any dangerous substances like methanol.
